This contract for Stacey construction involved the conversion of the old grade II listed hospital and town workhouse into a Sainsbury's outlet and 2 other retail units as well as a seperate GP Surgery. Work on retail units began in January 2013 and is expected to finished in may 2013.
We carried out extensive roofing works on the old hospital building including a pitched mansard roof around the perimeter and a large flat roof in the centre of the building supported by a steel frame.
We also undertook the repair of some existing roof structures in line with conservation orders.
Inside the retail units we fitted rigid insulation board between rafters with plasterboard over to provide thermal and fire breaks before Sainsburys fit suspended ceilings throughout.
Next door is a new build 4 storey gp surgery which we expect to start work on in May 2013.
